Dr. Alan Cavaiola is a Professor in the Department of Psychological Counseling at Monmouth University, West Long Branch, NJ. In addition to being a Licensed Psychologist, he is also a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Dr. Cavaiola’s academic career has focused mainly on substance abuse counseling, workplace stress issues, couples and family counseling and clinical supervision courses. He has published many research articles dealing with assessment and treatment of DUI offenders, workplace stress and treatment of addictions. He is also the co-author of six books, including "Impossible to Please" (New Harbinger, 2012), "Crisis Intervention Case Book" (Cengage Learning, 2011), and "The One-Way Relationship Workbook" (New Harbinger, 2010).
