Hehmeyer Trading has openings for a weekend shift Automated Trading Operator.Hehmeyer Trading is based in Chicago and Zug, but we welcome applications from anywhere in the United States. We are a growing, dynamic, team hoping to foster diversity and innovation as we roll out new quantitative trades in cryptocurrency assets.

This is predominantly a monitoring role. The trading systems are automated and require very little intervention under normal circumstances, but careful monitoring of P&L, positions, and alarms is required. Primary job responsibilities will include real-time troubleshooting, monitoring and support of automated trading systems, with escalation by phone to the rest of the team if things don't go according to plan.

All candidates must have strong communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and attentiveness to detail. Monitoring can be monotonous, but when things happen, quick, accurate responses and escalation are required.

The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate or graduate student in computer science, engineering, mathematics, operations research, physics, or statistics/data science. Time off will be granted for weekend exams, with prior arrangement.Recent graduates may also be considered.

This role could lead to a career in automated trading. Prior interest in and experience with algorithmic trading or familiarity with high-frequency financial data is a plus. Technical skills

such as software development, system administration, or familiarity with open source monitoring tools are also desirable. Our primary research language is Python, so students looking for possible career advancement after graduation will have Python skills.

This internship will be an hourly role. Coverage for the weekend will be divided into shifts that will start at 5 PM Central on Fridays and run through 5 PM Central on Sundays. Individuals interested in a career in automated trading will have ample opportunities to do additional projects that will add value to the team.
